by Brouwerij Corsendonk (at Brasserie Du Bocq)

This beer pours a lovely mahogany brown, with a billowing white head presenting a fantastic image in the glass.  The nose is strongly of dark fruits - raisins, plums, figs - with caramel and hints of chocolate from the roasted malts.

The flavour is built on a medium sweet malt backbone, complimented by the competing richness of the dark fruits, gentle spices and earthy hop character.  The fine carbonation aids in the smooth, luxurious mouthfeel.

Beer fact : this beer was first launched in 1982 under the name Pater Noster.  It is also distributed as 'Abbey Brown Ale' in the US market.  Occasionally one of these US bottles can appear in our stock from Belgium!
