Luke from Soapbox Beer has invited us back to the brewery again, and with brewer Ian Watson having just returned from a trip to Belgium it seems appropriate to hold a full-blown Belgian beer tasting!
How's this for a line up:
Glazen Toren Extra (4.8%) - Belgian Pale Ale
Orval (6.2%) - Trappist Pale Ale dry hopped and fermented with a wild Brettanomyces yeast
Westmalle Dubbel (7.0%) - Trappist dubbel
Glazen Toren Saison d'Erpe-Mere (6.5%) - one of Belgium's best traditional saisons
La Chouffe (8.0%) - Belgian blond
Glazen Toren Odineke (8.5%) - Belgian tripel
Petrus Red (8.0%) - a blend of 15% Petrus Aged Pale with 85% Petrus Dubbel infused with natural cherries
Deus Brut de Flandres (11.5%) - Belgium's original champagne beer
Kasteelbier Donker (11.0%) - Belgian quadrupel
Rochefort 10 (11.3%) - The 'King of the Trappists' is this wonderful quadrupel
Rumour has it that Luke and Ian will be sharing their new beer as well, so we'll find an appropriate place to fit that into our tasting schedule.
When: Friday 7th November 2025
